Baseball: Lakeview beats East Hall in a slugfest

RABBITTOWN — Jesse Whiting had five hits, six RBI, and scored five runs in helping lead Lakeview Academy to a 20-10 win in six innings over East Hall in both teams' season openers on Thursday at East Hall Park.

The Lions (1-0) scored in all but one inning and erased a 4-3 deficit in the second inning with three runs in third, four each in the fourth and fifth innings, and six more in the sixth. After taking a quick 3-0 lead in the first, Lakeview fell behind when the Vikings (0-1) scored four in the second.

East Hall scored one in the fifth and five the sixth to get closer.

Jake Hannon also had a big night at the plate for Lakeview with three hits, two stolen bases, and he scored five times. Jimmy Chu added two hits and 2 RBIs.

Parker Allen earned the win on the mound pitching two innings an striking out two.

Lakeview is off until playing host to East Hall on Tuesday, March 2nd.

East Hall plays host to Rabun County on Friday.
