At a press conference later today, Gov. Brian Kemp is expected to announce all Georgians over the age of 16 will soon be able to register for COVID-19 vaccines.
Kemp's office has scheduled the press conference for 4:15 p.m. at the State Capitol.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Kemp will use Tuesday's event to announce expanded eligibility, an idea the governor floated earlier this month when he said he wanted all adults to qualify for the vaccine by early April. President Joe Biden has said he wants all Americans to be eligible for the vaccine by May.
The Georgia Department of Public Health's vaccine dashboard shows 3.2 million vaccinations have now been administered in Georgia, including more than 1.1 million second doses. The state has administered 81% of the vaccine supply it has been allotted.
