By AccessWDUN Staff

GAINESVILLE — Sam Perrott's shot over the top of the defense found Whit Coyle just in time to punch the go-ahead goal through to lift the Lakeview Academy boys over King's Ridge, 3-2, on Tuesday.

The Lions took an early lead, 1-0, off a shot by Luke Cooper that Bodie Blackwell headed into the net. Perrott and Whit Coyle connected for the first of two scores later in the opening half to go up, 2-0.

But King's Ridge rallied back tying the game, 2-2, and it stayed that way until Perrott and Coyle teamed up again for the eventual winning goal with two minutes left in the game.

Lewis Coyle recorded his second win of the season in goal with 12 saves.

The Lions (2-7-2, 1-2 Region 6A Private) returns to action on Friday when they play host to region foe St. Francis. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
