LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is holding a blood drive at Jacobs Media in Gainesville Friday in honor of Forrest Towns, a Gainesville resident and University of North Georgia student who is fighting leukemia.
The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at a bloodmobile at 1102 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30501.
While walk-ups are welcome, those interested in donating blood are encouraged to make an appointment online to expedite the process.
LifeSouth is currently limiting the number of donors aboard their bloodmobiles at one time to protect donors from COVID-19.
