Two Buford men have been arrested in connection with recent thefts at storage units in Flowery Branch and Buford.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office issued a social media post on April 27, trying to identify the men captured on surveillance camera taking items from Outback Climate Controlled Self Storage and U-Haul on Atlanta Highway in Flowery Branch. Following the release of the BOLO, investigators were able to identify andf obtain arrest warrants for Matthew Thomas Berry, 32, and Jacob Reid Bennett, 32.
Berry was charged with three counts of second-degree burglary for the following crimes:
- Early morning April 20 - entered storage units at Outback Climate Controlled Self Storage and U-Haul in the 6000 block of Ga. 13/Atlanta Highway in Flowery Branch.
- Early morning April 25 - entered storage units at Outback Climate Controlled Self Storage and U-Haul in the 6000 block of Ga. 13/Atlanta Highway in Flowery Branch.
- Early morning April 25 - Entered a storage unit in the 1000 block of Parkway Industrial Park Drive in Buford.
In Hall County, Bennett will face a charge of second-degree burglary in connection with the April 25 burglary in Flowery Branch.
The Gwinnett County Police Department was able to arrest both men on the Hall County warrants; Berry was transferred to the Hall County Jail on Sunday, May 2, while Bennett remains jailed in Gwinnett County for charges in Gwinnett.
