Lawrenceville man dead, teen critically hurt

Gwinnett County Police Department investigators have identified those involved in an early morning shooting at an apartment complex in Lawrenceville. 

Kapri Ward, 29, of Lawrenceville was dead at the scene at Durant Sugarloaf Apartments, while Jamar Quarles, 17, of Memphis, Tennessee was critically wounded. 

Police are still searching for a motive in the shootings.

Two men have been shot - and one of them has died - at an apartment complex in Lawrenceville.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating the incident at Durant Sugarloaf Apartments.

"Shortly after midnight, officers were dispatched to a 'person shot' call at 50 St. Marlowe Drive, in Lawrenceville," said Hideshi Valle, Public Information Officer for Gwinnett Police. "Upon arrival, officers located one male deceased. One additional male victim was transported to a local hospital."

Valle said the names of the victims are being withheld at this time.

"At this time, investigators are exploring all motives," Valle said in her email statement. "Witnesses are encouraged to call GCPD Investigators or Atlanta Crime Stoppers with any useful information."
