Gov. Brian Kemp is scheduled to announce the state's plans for additional steps designed to support Georgia's hospitals as COVID hospitalizations continue to rise.
Kemp at Dr. Kathleen Toomey with the Georgia Department of Public Health will deliver comments and then field questions at the Georgia State Capitol at 4 p.m.
In addition, the governor is expected to encourage state employees to get their COVID vaccines.
The latest information on the DPH COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard shows more than 9.1 million doses of vaccine have been administered in Georgia. That translates to 48% of the state's eligible population receiving at least one dose of the vaccine.
