A Gillsville man wanted for an Aug. 5 shooting incident has been arrested in Clayton County.
The Hall County Jail Transport Unit picked up Emilio Daniel Moran, 23, of Gillsville at the Clayton County Jail on Wednesday morning.
Moran had been wanted on two counts of aggravated assault after he shot and wounded another man during an altercation at a residence on Microwave Tower Road off Athens Highway. Moran ran from the scene of the crime that night, and despite efforts by deputies and a K9 unit, Moran managed to escape. At the time, authorities considered him armed and dangerous.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said authorities were in the process of booking Moran into the Hall County Jail and further information on his arrest - including additional charges - would be made available Thursday morning.
