COMMERCE — Commerce opened the Mar Hollars-era with a solid 10-0 win over Banks County on Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
Senior Dreylan Martin scored the game’s only touchdown in the first quarter, sprinting 64-yards to give them the lead.
It stayed that way until the fourth quarter when sophomore Ivy Tolbert booted a 25-yard field goal. Tolbert, with the extra point and field goal, became the first female player to score points for Commerce in its storied history.
The Tigers (1-0) defense held on to run their win streak against Banks County (0-1) to 17 straight in the series.
