The United Way of Hall County will kick of its second annual Week of Caring on September 16.
For each day of the week until September 24, members of the community will have the opportunity to volunteer at multiple local nonprofits.
Volunteers can sign up for service projects such as painting at the Salvation Army, helping with the Georgia Mountain Food Bank’s community garden and serving lunches at Good News at Noon.
The purpose of the Week of Caring is to inspire community members to volunteer throughout the year and to raise awareness for local needs, according to a press release sent by a United Way spokesperson.
“United Way and our partners are stepping up in countless ways. As the pandemic continues, we know that we are in this together, and it’s the strength of our community partners and supporters that makes the most difference,” said Jessica Dudley, president of United Way of Hall County. “Our goal is to maximize the impact we can make in just one when people come together and Live United.”
Last year, during the nonprofit’s first Week of Caring, more than 200 volunteers completed eight on-site service projects and 11 remote projects.
