NASCAR has been wanting to inject some excitement into the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff cutoff race for a few years. If crashes and mayhem are your idea of excitement, you may have gotten your wish.
Our Hard Left Turn crew takes a look at the news coming out of Saturday night's NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway, including:
-Ryan Blaney got out front on a final restart shove and held the lead until the final caution flag flew to end the race in Overtime and score the win.
-Tyler Reddick survived the race and made the Playoff cut with a fifth place finish, while his teammate, Austin Dillon, ended up with a destroyed race car with half a lap to go to see his post-season hopes go away.
-Bubba Wallace recorded his best result of the season with a second place finish. But a comment he made post-race may suggest all is not well with the Toyota camp.
-Now that the Playoff field is set, who are the favorites and who is sitting on the hot seat as we start the Round of 16?
