GAINESVILLE — The Gainesville girls volleyball team closed out its home schedule on Thursday with a thrilling 3-2, Region 6-7A win over Denmark on Senior Night at the Gainesville gym.
The Lady Red Elephants (20-16, 2-2 Region 6-7A) rallied from a set down twice to take a 19-25, 26-24, 11-25, 25-21, 15-11 victory.
Several seniors led the way. Izzy Garrish had 15 assists, 5 digs, and 6 kills. Callie Patterson added 1 block and 4 kills, Margaret Embry had an ace, an assist, and 15 digs, and Abbey Council had two blocks for Gainesville.
Jay Maldonado added 2 aces, 15 digs, 2 blocks, and 15 kills, Kerrigan Gruhn had 6 aces, 11 digs, 2 blocks, and 10 kills, Avery Lindsey had 6 aces, 18 assists, and 10 digs, and Savannah Brock added 3 assists and 7 digs.
Gainesville next will travel to West Forsyth for another region match on Tuesday.
