Auburn man captured after weeks-long search in Barrow, Gwinnett counties

The Barrow County Sheriff's Office said Monday afternoon that a man from Auburn who had been on the run for several weeks has been captured by authorities.

According to a social media post from the agency, Thomas Conner Johnson, 30, was taken into custody without incident following a short foot pursuit with deputies. 

Johnson was wanted for a variety of charges out of both Barrow and Gwinnett counties.

Gwinnett and Barrow County authorities are on the lookout for an Auburn man currently wanted on a long list of charges.

Thomas Conner Johnson, 30, is being sought for charges stemming from both counties.

Although the exact nature of his alleged crimes has not been made public, the Gwinnett County Police Department says upon arrest, Johnson will face charges of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police, Reckless Driving, Aggressive Driving, Terroristic Threats, Harassing Calls, 2nd Degree Criminal Damage to Property, Simple Assault, and Possession of Methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, Johnson is wanted for terroristic threats, simple assault and obstruction of law enforcement in relation to a domestic violence incident in Barrow County.

Johnson -who may or may not have facial hair - is described as being approximately 5’7” tall and weighing 145 lbs. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

Police say Johnson is known to frequent the Gwinnett and Barrow County area, and has a history of fleeing from police.
