Football: North Forsyth shuts out Apalachee, 44-0

APALACHEE, Ga. — The North Forsyth defense allowed just 121 yards of offense Friday night as the Raiders took down Apalachee, 44-0, in the regular season finale.

The Raiders had 341 yards of offense, 253 of which came through the air. Karson McBrayer had two touchdowns on 45 yards rushing, while West Roberts finished the night 14-for-16 passing for 245 yards.

McBrayer started out the scoring for North Forsyth early in the first on a 5-yard touchdown run before the defense forced a safety to push the score to 9-0. On the ensuing drive, Roberts found Zach Shirley for a 39-yard touchdown pass to take a 16-0 lead.

Logan Curry opened up the second period with a 28-yard catch for a score. Cole Smith got in on the fun three minutes later with a 52-yard touchdown catch to push the score out to 30-0.

In the second half, McBrayer punched in his second score of the night from seven yards out before Walker Roberts caught an 8-yard touchdown pass to wrap up the scoring.

North Forsyth will play at home next week to open up the 6A state playoffs against Blessed Trinity.
