Voters in Habersham County have approved a 1-cent Educational Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax renewal by a 61% margin.
Additionally, incumbent District 3 Commissioner Jimmy Tench has escaped a runoff after receiving 55% of the votes against Republican challengers Jimmy Dean and Jason Mark Smith.
In Mt. Airy, voters overwhelmingly approved Sunday alcohol sales with a 65% margin.
