Mitch Ralston named next president of United Community Bank of Hall County

Longtime Gainesville Banker Mitch Ralston will be the next president of United Community Bank of Hall County following the retirement of Will White.

The bank made the announcement in a press release Friday afternoon. White's last day is Sept. 1. Ralston will supervise operations of all four United Community Bank branches in the Hall County area as part of his new role.

“We are extremely grateful for Will’s steady dedication to the Hall, Dawson and Lumpkin counties over the years,” Jack Keener, State President for United Community Bank in Northeast Georgia said. “He has been an integral part of growing our bank but has also played a big role in the economic growth of the region and charitable giving in the community. His character and leadership have made a major impact on those he has touched over his career, and we are appreciative for his influence and legacy he leaves across the company.”

White will retire after a 43-year banking career in Gainesville, including 17 years with United Community Bank. He is a native of Hall County and a graduate of Gainesville High School, Gainesville College and the University of Georgia. White has also participated in numerous fundraising events with local nonprofits throughout his career.

“It has been a privilege to spend my entire banking career in my hometown of Gainesville, somewhere I consider a special place," White said. "I’m grateful for the opportunity I have had to lead the talented United team."

Ralston is a Gainesville native. He graduated from Gainesville High School, Clemson University and the University of Georgia Banking School. Ralston has led the Commercial Lending Division at United Community Bank of Hall County and has over 30 years of banking experience. He serves on multiple boards and is a current member and past president of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed growing my career with United and I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead the exceptional group of bankers in Hall County,” Ralston said.  “Will has assembled an incredible team that is committed to excellent customer service and personalized solutions for our clients.  I look forward to continuing to support our clients throughout the area.”
