The Red Roof Inn & Suites in Commerce was "moderately" damaged by a Monday afternoon fire.
Banks County Fire & Emergency Services said Monday evening that crews were dispatched to the fire on U.S. 441 shortly before 1 p.m.
"Upon arrival units found a multi-story motel with fire showing from the first and second floor balcony area," Banks Co. Fire/EMS Chief Steve Nichols said. "The fire was quickly contained and the damage was maintained to the balcony and roof/attic area."
Although the fire caused moderate damage to the motel, no injuries were reported in the aftermath of the incident.
The cause of the fire is now being investigated by the Banks County Fire Department, along with assistance from the Georgia State Fire Marshalls Office.
