DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — The Stephens County defense took advantage of two first-half interceptions on their way to a 38-10 win over Dawson County Friday night at Tiger Stadium.

The Indians got an early interception and cashed in with 5:43 to go on a 7-yard run from Javin Gordon, the first of three times he would find the endzone on the night. He scored twice in the second half as part of his 130 yards on the ground.

Stephens County also got a solid night from quarterback Ben Stowe who threw 8-for-13 for 181 yards and a pair of first-half touchdowns to Jasec Smith.

Trailing 21-0, Dom LeBlanc got the Tigers on the board with 6:37 to play in the third quarter with a 37-yard field goal before the Indians pushed the score up to a 38-3 margin. Dylan Edwards found Declan Rhodes with 2:11 to play for a 65-yard touchdown pass to pull the Tigers to the 38-10 final score.

Dawson County is off next week before hosting West Hall to open Region 7-AAA play in two weeks.
