BETHLEHEM, Ga. — Gainesville's offense can put up points in bunches, and they did just that Friday night as the Red Elephants ran past Apalachee 53-0 to open region play.
Niam Cheeks had a pair of rushing touchdowns, one in the first quarter and one in the second. Baxter Wright had four touchdowns through the air as he finished 12-for-15 for 112 yards.
The Red Elephants led 41-0 at halftime on the back of a Pick 6 by Carmelo Byrd.
Gainesville is off next week before traveling to Lanier in two weeks.
