Two people have been arrested in Jackson County and are facing multiple felony charges, including conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine.
Tyler Haynes Winchell, 24 of Jefferson, has been charged with burglary in the 1st degree, two counts of using a telephone in committing or facilitating a felony, conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine and felony violation of probation.
On Sept. 7, the Jackson County Police Department received a report of a burglary on Hammond Rd in Jefferson. Winchell was named a suspect following a criminal investigation.
Investigators served an arrest warrant on Winchell on September 21st at his residence.
During his arrest, other subjects were discovered at the residence and investigators gained information that drug activity had been occurring within the home.
Through a search warrant, investigators were able to gather evidence linking Winchell to the burglary, as well as him and another subject who were involved with drug activity. That evidence led to a search warrant on a house on Nichols Road in Pendergrass, Georgia.
This led to the arrest of Maggie Elizabeth Rocco, 33, of Pendergrass. Rocco has been charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, use of telephone in committing or facilitating a felony, possession of methamphetamine, tampering with evidence and felony violation of probation.
Both Winchell and Rocco are currently booked in the Jackson County Jail.
