Walmart pharmacies nationwide will be offering free health screenings and affordable immunizations on Saturday, January 14.

Walmart is inviting communities across the country to participate in the first Walmart Wellness Day of 2023. Customers can receive free health screenings for things like glucose, cholesterol, body mass index and blood pressure. You can also obtain affordable immunizations for the flu, COVID-19, mumps, measles and more. The event will take place on January 14, running from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at all local Walmart pharmacies.

Collectively, there are over 4,600 Walmart locations across the country that will be participating. According to a press release by Walmart, some stores will also be offering vision screenings and in-store giveaways, as well as demos of various wellness products.

The complete list of health resources offered on the wellness day is as follows:

  • Free health screenings, including glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index and vision screenings (select locations)
  • Affordable immunizations, including flu, measles, mumps, pneumonia, tetanus, HPV, rubella (MMR), varicella (chickenpox/shingles), whooping cough (TDAP), Hepatitis A & B and more
  • No cost to patient COVID-19 vaccines
  • Wellness resources and the opportunity to talk with pharmacists

For Hall County residents, there are Walmart pharmacy locations on Browns Bridge Road, Thompson Bridge Road, Mundy Mill Road and Shallowford Road, to name a few. “A fresh, new year presents a great opportunity to really check in on our health as families, and as communities,” said Kevin Host, Walmart’s senior vice president of pharmacy. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’re able to offer through our Wellness Day events. These free screenings and affordable immunizations provide not only valuable insight but also valuable protection against illnesses that become common during the winter season.”

Walmart has been hosting wellness days since 2014, contributing more than 5 million free health screenings. Walmart officials say over 4,000 stores are currently based in medically underserved areas.
