Escaped Hall County inmate found and arrested in Buford

By Christian Ashliman Anchor/Reporter

A Hall County inmate who walked off his work release detail on Dec. 22 is back in custody.

Cedric Demitri Rogers, 45, of Flowery Branch was found Friday in an abandoned house on Talley Lane just off Thompson Mill Road. According to a press release by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Rogers was taken back into custody without incident at around 2:30 p.m.

In December of last year, Rogers was on a work release assignment at the Hall County Animal Shelter on Barber Road. During his time there, he reportedly removed his ankle monitor at a nearby location and was able to avoid capture until Friday.

Rogers was arrested on felony warrants for escape and interference with government property. He was originally jailed for an alleged probation violation.
