A Lawrenceville man has been arrested and charged with the November shooting death of a man in Norcross.
According to a press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department, Jose Caraballo, 28, of Lawrenceville, is charged in connection with the death of Alinton Joel Riveria-Zuniga, 22, of Lawrenceville.
Caraballo is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during a felony.
Officers responded at about 6:45 a.m. on Nov. 27, 2022, to Estates Court in Norcross to a report of a person who had been shot. Zuniga suffered a gunshot wound to the head but was still alive. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died.
The agency said the investigation is ongoing, and detectives are continuing to explore all motives.
