Three of the area regions became a lot more interesting with the week 8 results in Northeast Georgia.
Flowery Branch got a massive 48-0 win over Winder-Barrow, and, with Clarke Central's loss to Loganville on Thursday night, region 8-5A has become a lot closer. In region 8-4A, Cherokee Bluff took down East Forsyth in a 10-3 defensive battle, putting the Bears firmly in the mix for a playoff spot. Madison County won a shootout against North Hall, 49-35.
In region 7-3A, Dawson County took down Pickens, 42-7, White County fell late to Wesleyan, 27-24, and Lumpkin County blew out Gilmer, 56-3. Jackson County took down Shiloh, 36-7, while Lanier held on to beat North Forsyth, 27-21, on Thursday night in region 8-6A action.
