CLEVELAND, Ga. – White County scored the final 28 points of the game as the Warriors defeated West Hall Friday night, 38-7.
The Warriors took the opening drive and got the first points of the night on a 62-yard run from quarterback Tripp Nix. After recovering a West Hall fumble, White County hit a 42-yard field goal from Hayden Vandegriff to stretch the lead to 10-0.
West Hall answered just one minute later on a 68-yard run from Elijah Hayes to cut the lead to 10-7, but White County answered 1:10 later on a 48-yard sprint by Ryan Fowler that pushed the lead back to 17-7.
After a mostly quiet second quarter, Fowler got his second score of the night on a 1-yard plunge. Nix found Gaines Clark midway through the third quarter for a 33-yard pitch-and-catch before Fowler finished the night with a 63-yard touchdown late in the third.
White County will travel to Lumpkin County next week, while West Hall will head to Pickens.
