GSP releases name of woman killed in Hall County pedestrian accident

The Georgia State Patrol released Monday morning the name of the woman who was killed in a pedestrian accident Saturday morning in Hall County.

The agency said Samantha Somera-Fretwel, 34, of Buford, died after she was struck by a vehicle at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday on McEver Road.

Her next of kin has been notified, according to GSP.

Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian Saturday morning in Hall County.

The Georgia State Patrol said the wreck occurred on McEver Road near J White Road after the driver of a Honda CRV struck a female pedestrian who was standing in the road near the center line.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident to determine why the woman was in the roadway. 

Next of kin has been notified and no charges have been filed against the driver.
