By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter

With the regular season coming to an end, two area runners, two receivers, and one quarterback lead their classifications with one more running back also having the ability to win his classification on Friday night.

Overall, 10 of the state’s top 50 rushers are in our northeast Georgia coverage area of AccessWDUN/Friday Game Night after Week 11, according to the comprehensive stats released by Georgia High School Football Daily on Friday.

Lumpkin County’s Mason Sullens leads Class 3A with 1,692 yards and is 3rd overall. The Indians regular season has ended and he leads second place Duke Watson of Mary Persons (1,411 yards) by 281 yards in Class 3A.

Commerce’s Jaiden Daniels jumped into 5th in the state after another big game last and still leads Class A Division I with 1,509 yards. He leads Toby Maddux of Trion (1,385 yards) by 124 yards. But the Bulldogs play No. 2 Darlington on Friday. Daniels’s teammate, Tysean Wiggins, is third in Class A D1 with 1,218 yards and 28th overall.

Gavin Hall of Gainesville moved into 24th overall but is now second in Class 6A with 1,259 yards. He sits just 60 yards behind Ousmane Kromah of Lee County, who leads 6A with 1,319 yards, and could win the classification with another huge game. The Red Elephants take on Jackson County while Lee County plays Tift County.

Javin Gordon of Stephens County is still 3rd in Class 3A and 20th overall with 1,279 yards. Jefferson’s Sammy Brown is 22nd overall with 1,269 yards. Ryan Fowler of White County is having his best season for the Warriors and is now 23rd overall with 1,265 yards, giving Region 7-3A three of the state’s best in the top 23 runners overall. Elijiah Hayes of West Hall is 42nd overall with 1,129 yards.

Region 8-4A is also well represented with Conner Hulsey of Cherokee Bluff (1,086 yards) and Tripp Morris of East Forsyth (1,079 yards) sitting 47th and 50th overall.

In passing, only two quarterbacks have thrown for over 2,000 yards and just four have thrown for over 1,800 yards.

Union County’s Caiden Tanner climbed three more spots to 6th overall in the state with 2,293 yards and now leads Class 2A. But he leads Ben Klassen of Providence Christian (2,222 yards) by just 71 yards. The Storm play Banks County tonight.

Flowery Branch’s Josh Oliver is 23rd overall with 2,066 yards and 4th in Class 5A.

Buford’s Dylan Raiola is 28th with 2,040 yards and Ty Truelove of Rabun County is 37th with 1,841 yards.

However, two area receivers now lead their classifications heading into the final week. Willie Goodwyn of Rabun County leads Class A Division 1 with 800 yards. That’s good for 28th overall in the state.

Dawson County’s Dom LeBlanc leads Class 3A with 797 yards. He leads fellow Region 7-3A player Hayden Jones of Pickens (665 yards) by 132 yards. The Tigers completed their season last week while Pickens plays Wesleyan tonight.

Flowery Branch’s Jeremiah Ware is now 8th with 983 yards but is just 3rd in Class 5A.

Union County’s Jensen Goble is 37th with 753 yards; Zeke Whittington of Habersham Central is 48th with 699 yards; and Seth Larson of Flowery Branch is 52nd with 670 yards.
