OAKWOOD, Ga. – Lumpkin County a perfect 10-0 for the first time in program history after the Indians took down West Hall Friday night, 42-7.

It was a slow start for the Indians, but Mason Sullens got the visitors on the board first on a 50-yard sprint to go up, 7-0. West Hall answered on their next drive, scoring early in the second quarter on an Elijah Hayes 45-yard rushing score to tie things up at 7-7.

From that point, it was all Lumpkin County as the Indians rattled off the final 35 points of the game, starting with a passing score from Cal Faulkner to Luke Evans for 13 yards. Faulkner then found AJ Scott on a 9-yard pitch-and-catch to go up 28-7 at halftime.

After intermission, Faulkner ran in from 14 yards away in the third, and Sullens capped off the night with a 1-yard score.

The Indians finished with 407 yards of offense, led by Sullens' 166 yards rushing. Faulkner was 15-of-21 passing for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Elijah Hayes broke the century mark for the Spartans with 101 yards rushing on 17 touches.

Lumpkin County will play host to Gordon Lee next week in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs.
