A Gainesville man has been arrested in connection with a weekend robbery at a bank in Flowery Branch.
A release Monday morning from the Flowery Branch Police Department said Dusty McCoy Krantz, age 37, was arrested Sunday evening in a room at the Super 8 motel on Dorsey Street in Gainesville. The arrest was a joint effort of both Flowery Branch and Gainesville police.
Police identified Krantz as the suspect in Saturday morning's robbery at a Wells Fargo bank on Hog Mountain Road. A man was seen on camera entering the bank and giving the teller a note that allegedly demanded money. The teller gave the suspect money and the suspect fled the store on foot.
"Investigators worked through the weekend, developed numerous investigative leads, which ultimately led to the identification," Flowery Branch Deputy Police Chief Todd Templeton said. "We did receive a number of tips that were generated from the media release, and those did prove to be very helpful."
Krantz remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Monday afternoon. He faces one count of Robbery by Intimidation.
Templeton said the case is still under investigation and Krantz could potentially face more charges.
