White County Public Safety’s Emergency Management Division announced nine people graduated from the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training Program.
Bryce Barrett, Public Information Officer for White County, said the CERT program equips community members with skills to respond to various emergencies and disasters.
Through the Ten-week course graduates learned the appropriate response to man-made and natural incidents through hands-on practice and realistic exercises.
Graduates can join specialized teams, including search and rescue, rehab, debris management and communication, Barrett said.
"We are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of our latest CERT class," Leah Torregiano, CERT Coordinator said. "Their dedication to preparedness is commendable, and we are confident in their ability to make a positive impact during emergencies."
