Two Atlanta-based firms have broken ground on a new 229-unit apartment complex in the Oakwood area.
According to a press release, Batson-Cook Development Company and Imperium Development are working on the joint-venture project at 2800 Frontage Road. The 7.65-acre development will feature an apartment community spanning about 190,000 square feet.
The development is also aligned with Gainesville's Highlands to Islands Trail.
"It will boast a market-leading amenity package featuring a two-story clubhouse, a resort-quality swimming pool, a coworking area and a state-of-the-art fitness center, among other common area amenities," the release reads.
The developers said the location provides easy access to Metro Atlanta, the University of North Georgia, Lake Lanier and Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
The development is expected to be complete in 2025.
