Game Changer now open at Lanier Islands

By AccessWDUN Staff

Lanier Islands’ newest attraction, Game Changer, is now open to visitors.

The year-round amenity has an entertainment floor with over 60 popular amusement games, a dedicated kids’ arcade space, virtual sports suites, ax throwing lanes, an escape room, and a 9-hole challenge putting course.

The Game Changer also has food options with two bars.

“As has been the case for the last 17 years, we’re always exploring new ways to enrich our guest experience – whether staying with us overnight or here for a handful of hours,” Virgil Williams, Chairman of the Board for Lanier Islands, said. “We’ve been particularly interested in creating a year-round destination that would keep our resort guests and local visitors entertained during their time on the Islands. Game Changer will provide weather-proof fun for couples, corporate groups, wedding parties, and families. We are delighted to partner on this venture with a recognized industry leader in game-room design and development - Family Entertainment Group - to bring a world-class entertainment center to the shores of Lake Lanier.”

Following the attraction’s soft opening Saturday, Lanier Islands said in a press release that the resort will offer a dedicated Game Changer accommodation package for overnight guests to include game cards that are redeemable at the venue.

The resort also explained that while the Game Changer is great for families and couples, activities such as virtual sport suites and the escape room are designed to be team-building activities for groups.  Sport suites accommodate up to eight guests per bay, or groups can elect to reserve multiple bays for larger parties. The escape room is ideal for six guests at a time.
