Hall County to hold Comprehensive Plan workshops for the public

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

The Hall County government is encouraging citizens to share their visions for the county during two upcoming workshops as part of Hall County’s ongoing update to its Comprehensive Plan.

The workshops will be held on March 14, the first from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mulberry Creek Community Center, and the second will be held later that day, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the North Hall Community Center.

The county says each workshop is free and open to the public, and additional workshops are planned for early May.

“We welcome the public’s feedback throughout this process,”  Randi Doveton, Hall County Planning & Development director, said. “And we encourage citizens to make their voices heard as we develop a plan to guide growth into the future.”

As for citizens who are unable to attend the workshops in - person,  the county now offers “Meeting in a Box,” a toolkit that allows you to present information and gather feedback at the grassroots level.

“The ‘Meeting in a Box’ is a great opportunity for citizens to participate in the process at the level they’re most comfortable with,” Doveton explained. “We provide everything you’ll need to host a meeting with your local civic groups, church gatherings, homeowners associations, and everything in between.”

According to a press release, the toolkit includes instructions for facilitators, presentations for in-person and virtual meetings, worksheets, and more.
