Tennis: North Hall girls knock of Lady Bears; Bluff boys get win over NHall; Branch sweeps Winder

The North Hall girls knocked off Cherokee Bluff, 4-1, on Tuesday to remain undefeated in Region 8-4A.

The Lady Trojans swept the singles matches. No. 1 Ella Kate Canaday beat Bryson Bishop, 6-0, 6-3. No. 2 Gabbie Jenkins knocked off Hayley Moore, 6-2, 6-0, and Lilly Perry defeated EJ Hewette 6-1, 6-1. 

In doubles action, Maggie Perry and Riley Morgan rally back to beat Corey Hammond and Presley Rosen after losing the first set 6-1. Perry and Morgan won the second 7-5 to force the tiebreaker set, which they won, 6-0.

Cherokee Bluff picked up the set win in No. 2 doubles, with Lauren Murrath Grace and Blythe Cornett winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.

On the boys' side, Cherokee Bluff pulled out a 3-2 win over the Trojans. 

The Bears swept the singles matches, with James Rivenbark knocking off Jack Maddox in the No. 1 singles 7-6 and 6-2; Joshua Reynolds beating Griffin Keener 6-0, 6-1, and Boston Murphy getting the victory over Jacob Wagner, 6-1, 6-0. 

The Trojans' two wins came in doubles, with Luis Delgado and Easton McNair defeating Jett Hewett and Nick Bellew, 6-2 6-2, and Logan Adams and Brooks Dorsey beating Arya Chawla and Brady Woodward, 7-6, 6-2.

The boys are now 6-1 in 8AAAA and travel to Walnut Grove


FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 4,
WINDER-BARROW 1

The Flowery Branch girls rolled past Winder-Barrow in Winder on Tuesday. 

Sandra Hernandez beat Ema Claire Caine, 6-3, 6-4, in No. 1 singles, and Avery Max won, 6-2, 6-2, in the No. 2 singles match against Katy Keller. 

In doubles, Casey Skaggs and Violet Shultz lost the first set 6-2 but came back to win the next two sets to clinch the match. In No. 2 doubles, Casey Beaver and Haley Bursinger won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.

WINDER-BARROW 2

The Flowery Branch doubles teams swept the action to help the Falcons past Winder-Barrow on Tuesday. 

Josh Warren and Ty Weatherley won 6-3, 6-2, and after losing the first set 7-5, Reid Barnes and Eli King captured the No. 2 doubles match with a 7-5 and 6-1 win. 

Logan Magnuson earned the Falcons' lone singles win in the No. 2 slot, beating Jackson Hutchins, 6-1, 7-5.
