Habersham County officials announced Tuesday night the emergency closure of a bridge over Little Mud Creek on Wilbanks Road outside of Baldwin.
Repairs to the bridge are set to begin Wednesday morning and run through the end of the day on Thursday.
According to a release, erosion on the east side abutment of the bridge has made it necessary for emergency repairs. Crews plan to place barriers on both sides of the bridge.
Drivers will need to detour around the bridge until it is reopened. Habersham County officials recommend using Creasy Patch Road and Alto-Mud Creek Road as alternative routes.
Motorists are encouraged to heed all construction signs and barriers and watch for personnel throughout the duration of the repairs.
