A new bill has been signed by Governor Brian Kemp that is designed to prevent outside sources from donating funds to election campaign offices within Georgia counties.
Outside election money became a big issue for Georgia Republicans after a group funded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg donated more than 400 million dollars nationwide during the first year of the COVID pandemic.
Governor Brian Kemp signed off approval on the bill Wednesday.
The new law makes it a felony for local governments to accept money from nonprofit organizations.
Georgia lawmakers voted 32-21 on the bill during the legislative session.
