By Christian Ashliman Anchor/Reporter

A Flowery Branch woman Thursday morning turned herself in at the Hall County Jail after allegedly stealing over $19,000 in jewelry from an elderly person she was caring for.

Cathleen Dianne Mayo, 47, was charged with alleged theft by taking as well as the exploitation of an elderly person, according to Flowery Branch Police Chief Chris Hulsey. She turned herself in at the Hall County jail following the issuance of a warrant.

Mayo was reportedly one of the five people featured in this week’s “Wanted Wednesday” lineup, a bi-weekly release facilitated by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Mayo allegedly stole approximately $19,300 worth of jewelry from an elderly person she was caregiving for. Reports indicate Mayo was aware the victim was suffering from dementia and willfully stole multiple pieces of jewelry between March 2022 and April 2023, according to authorities.

Officials have not released the name of the victim at this time.
