Three people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon after being involved in a two-vehicle wreck in Hall County.
The Georgia State Patrol says the accident happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of SR 52 and County Line Road.
According to a preliminary crash report, the collision occurred when a vehicle driven by Wendy Kay Brown of St. Petersburg, FL, turned in front of an oncoming vehicle.
"[Brown] was turning left from SR 52 eastbound toward County Line Road, failed to yield, and was struck," the report said.
Brown's vehicle came to a rest on the shoulder of the roadway. The other vehicle, driven by Gillsville resident Jayden Gooch, left the roadway, struck a stop sign and fence, and eventually came to rest in the cemetery of Gillsville Baptist Church.
"[Brown] stated she didn't see [Gooch] approaching as she proceeded with her turn," the report concluded.
Gooch, Brown and a 6-year-old passenger in Brown's vehicle were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Brown suffered a possible minor injury while Gooch and the child complained of a possible injury. Two other passengers in Brown's vehicle did not require hospitalization.
The State Patrol said Sunday evening that Brown was issued a citation for her alleged role in causing the collision.
