Heavy thunderstorms that rushed through much of the southeast and here in North Georgia late Monday afternoon and early evening created some isolated power outages.
Some strong wind gusts, heavy showers in some isolated areas, and lightning cause damage to some trees and power lines more to the north and east of Hall County.
Some school systems in Hall, Lumpkin and White Counties dismissed students earlier than normal as a precautionary measure prior to the storms Monday.
Fortunately, minimal long-term power outages have been reported as of this morning, mainly for Georgia Power customers located in parts of Rabun or Habersham County with about 400 customers from 30 scattered outages affected.
Hall County Emergency Management Director Zach Brackett reports that nine (9) downed trees affected county roadways during the height of the storm, but that all have been cleared.
One mobile home was damaged by a downed tree from within the Chandler Mobile Home Park. No injuries were reported as the structure was unoccupied.
No major outage areas were reported from other EMCs in the region as of Tuesday morning.
