GAINESVILLE, Ga. — The Hall County Board of Education on Wednesday announced they have rescheduled Thursday's 8th-grade football games to next month.
In a statement from Hall County Director of Communications and Athletics Stan Lewis, "Due to extremely high temperatures forecasted for (Thursday, Aug. 23 kickoff), all of our 8th grade football games have been rescheduled for October 12."
So far, as of Wednesday afternoon, the Johnson at West Hall high school game on Friday is the only one to move their kickoff time. That game will now begin at 8 p.m. instead of the usual 7:30 p.m. start.
The Adairsville at Cherokee Bluff game scheduled for Friday is still kicking off as planned at 7:30 p.m.
Chestatee, East Hall, and North Hall all are off this week. Flowery Branch is playing St. Pius in Atlanta.
