FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – A quick start for Adairsville was enough to get past Cherokee Bluff Friday night, 21-7.
The Tigers got on the board early with a 61-yard pitch-and-catch to take a 7-0 lead just three minutes into the game. Seven minutes later, they punched it in from two yards out to double their lead.
Neither team scored again until the Tigers ran in from three yards out with 8:37 left in the third quarter before the Bears answered with a 3-yard run from Kaden Thompson.
Cherokee Bluff finished with 241 yards of offense, but turned the ball over three times on the night.
The Bears have the week off next week before opening region plya against Madison County at home in two weeks.
