LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Gainesville improved to 2-0 on the year as they defeated Mountain View on the road Friday night, 34-21.
After Mountain View got on the board first, Gavin Hall scored his first touchdown of the night early in the second quarter to tie things up at 7-7. Later in the second, Zion Ferguson intercepted a Bear pass and returned it to the house to give the Red Elephants their first lead of the night.
Gavin Hall would then get his second rushing touchdown of the night to push the lead to 20-7, and Gainesville never looked back on the way to the win.
Hall finished with 187 yards rushing and the two scores, while Baxter Wright added 26 rushing yards with a touchdown. He also threw for 144 yards, 45 of which went to Travien Watson.
The Red Elephants will host Coconut Creek (FL) next week at City Park.
