By AccessWDUN Staff

On a perfect Friday night for high school football, lots and lots of points highlighted the night across Northeast Georgia while a historic streak finally came to an end.

Buford overcame a sluggish start on the defensive side while the offense exploded for 45 points in a win over North Cobb. Jefferson got six touchdowns on the board to get career win No. 200 for Travis Noland.

Lumpkin County steamrolled Franklin County behind three touchdowns from Mason Sullens, while North Hall ran away from Dawson County in the second half, putting up 40 points. White County scored 52 points against Chestatee, while Union County put up 49 at Towns County. East Jackson jumped on West Hall early and often in a 42-7 win.

Gainesville held off a late rally from Coconut Creek, East Forsyth opened 8-4A play with a statement win over Cedar Shoals, and Commerce fell just short against Hebron Christian in a bid to start the season 3-0. Johnson snapped their 34-game losing streak with a 20-19 comeback over East Hall.
