GAINESVILLE, Ga. – After trailing 7-0 early, White County rattled off 52 unanswered Friday night to take down Chestatee, 52-7.
Caysen Goss got the War Eagles on the board at the 4:55 mark of the first quarter, but that was all Chestatee could get offensively. Tripp Nix answered on the ensuing drive with a 1-yard run to tie things up. Chestatee fumbled on their next possession as Isaiah Whitlow scooped and scored for White County to take a 14-7 lead after one.
Nix kept it going in the second quarter with another 1-yard run to take a two-score lead. Six minutes later, Nix found Ryan Fowler for a 15-yard touchdown pitch-and-catch before Nix found Vondre Nelson right before halftime to take a 35-7 lead to intermission.
The Warriors returned the second half kickoff 95 yards to the house as Cam Wilson got into the scoring column. After a Hayden Vandagriff 31-yard field goal midway through the third quarter, Noel Lammers wrapped up the scoring in the fourth quarter by punching it in from one yard out.
White County has next week off before hosting Stephens County in two weeks.
