KENNESAW, Ga. – The Buford offense hit their stride Friday night as the Wolves took down North Cobb, 45-28.
The Wolves tallied 386 yards of total offense, 279 of which came off the arm of Dylan Raiola, who finished 12-for-16 with three touchdowns.
North Cobb got on the board first at the 6:22 mark, but Raiola answered quickly on a 25-yard passing score to Devin Williams to take a 7-6 lead. After North Cobb regained the lead three minutes later, Jordan Allen caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Raiola to tie the game up at 14-14 early in the second quarter. Mario Ventura then kicked a 37-yard field goal just 79 seconds later to give Buford a 17-14 lead.
North Cobb responded quickly on a 12-yard quarterback draw to reclaim the lead, but the Wolves got it back three minutes later on a Justin Baker 4-yard scamper to hold on to a 24-21 lead at the break.
Baker stretched the lead out midway through the third quarter on a 37-yard run before Dylan McCoy had a 24-yard touchdown sprint early in the fourth to take a 38-21 lead. KJ Bolden put an exclamation point on the night with a 50-yard touchdown reception with 4:42 left to seal the win.
Buford has a bye next week before hosting Carver Atlanta in two weeks.
