Softball: East Forsyth, Bluff take big 8-4A wins on the road; NHall falls

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — East Forsyth scored six runs over the final three innings to blow open a tie game en route to a crucial 7-2 Region 8-4A win over North Hall on Tuesday.

The win also kept the Lady Broncos (11-5, 9-1 Region 8-4A) atop the region standings.

The game was tied at 1-1 after the fourth inning when East Forsyth scored the eventual game-winning run on a passed ball in the fifth. They blew it open with four runs in the sixth, highlighted by a two-run single from Kendall Linn.

Cadence Alberty added a solo home run in the top of the seventh. Ava Cowart had a RBI triple in the third for East Forsyth.

KB Seabolt had a RBI single for North Hall (12-5, 6-3 Region 8-4A) to tie the game in the fourth.

Alberty got the win for East Forsyth giving up just two runs on nine hits and two walks. She fanned three.

Olivia Mullins took the loss for the Lady Trojans, allowing six runs on four hits and four walks.

The Lady Bears rallied from a big early deficit for a huge Region 8-4A win over the road Tuesday.

Cherokee Bluff (8-7-1, 6-3 Region 8-4A) trailed 4-1 after the first inning but chipped away with a run in the second on a solo home run from  Jaycee Archer and two in the third on a two-run homer by Catalina Baronci to tie the game. The Lady Bears took their first lead with two runs in the fifth and Angelina Baronci hit her second solo home run of the game in the sixth for a big insurance run.

Lillie Diehl earned the win for Cherokee Bluff pitching the final 6 1/3 innings in relief. Diehl scattered two hits and allowed one unearned run.

The win for the Lady Bears moved them into a three-way tie for third with North Hall and Seckinger (11-5, 6-3 Region 8-4A) in the region standings.
