Buford came off the bye and shut out Carver Atlanta, 31-0, while Gainesville rolled over Apalachee to open 8-6A play, 70-6. North Forsyth outlasted Jackson County in a thriller in Raider Valley, 42-35.
Lumpkin County overcame a slow start to push past Hart County, 30-10, and Commerce came from behind to get a big win over Lincoln County, 17-10.
In Region 8-4A, Cherokee Bluff got into the win column with a big win over Chestatee, 48-0, while North Hall ran away from East Hall, 49-14.
