Region 8-4A highlighted Week 6 of high school football in Northeast Georgia, but there were other exciting games around the area.
Flowery Branch forced overtime but fell short to Eastside in double overtime, 39-32. Jefferson outlasted Clarke Central in a defensive battle, 22-14. Commerce ran past Banks County, 38-21, and East Jackson improved to 5-0 with a 42-0 win over Johnson.
In 8-4A, North Hall took down Cherokee Bluff, 27-17; Cedar Shoals held on to beat East Hall, 10-7, and East Forsyth went on the road to take down Walnut Grove, 21-0.
Region 7-3A got underway, and Lumpkin County won in dominant fashion at Pickens, 49-14, while Dawson County's offense came to life in a 32-14 win at West Hall.
