The subject of a lookout call in Hall County for reckless driving was spotted Friday night by Habersham County authorities, leading to a brief chase down Ga. 365.
A Habersham County Sheriff’s Office HEAT (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) Unit reportedly spotted a vehicle that had previously been reported for reckless driving in Hall County.
When the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver fled, traveling north on Ga. 365 near Ga. 385 and Iron Ore Road, according to spokesman Rob Moore.
After a brief pursuit, the deputy was able to perform a PIT maneuver on the vehicle and take the driver into custody.
Dominique Issac Bowers, 37, of East Point, was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, tampering with evidence, speeding, hands-free violation, failure to maintain lane, failure to signal a lane change or turn, following too closely, no proof of insurance and reckless driving.
Bowers’ bond is currently set at $14,650 and he remains in jail as of Monday afternoon.
