Girls basketball scoreboard: Jefferson, Banks, NHall, LCA all get region wins; Rabun wins 8th straight

ATHENS, Ga. — Jefferson stayed perfect in Region 8-5A with a dominating 64-27 road win over Clarke Central on Friday.

Michel Robbins paced the Class 5A fifth-ranked Lady Dragons (16-3, 6-0 Region 8-5A) with 19 points. Skyler Brady added 18 points for Jefferson.

The Lady Dragons are off until next Friday when they travel to Flowery Branch.


BANKS COUNTY 63,
ATHENS ACADEMY 31

The Lady Leopards won their sixth straight game and stayed atop the Region 8-2A standings with a blowout road win on Friday.

Banks County (13-4, 3-0 Region 8-2A) got balanced scoring as eight different players scored. Addison Hoard led the way with 19 points.

Reese Murphy had 17 points, and Ryleigh Murphy added 15 points for the Lady Leopards. Carley Segars chipped in with 4 points, and Ella Kate Shedd, Emmie Chitwood, Maggie Irvin, and Marleigh Dale all had 2 points.

Banks County next will play host to Providence Christian on Tuesday.


RABUN COUNTY 72,
PRINCE AVENUE 56. 

The Class A Division 1 fourth-ranked Lady Wildcats ran their win streak to eight straight with a non-region win at home.

Senior Ellie Southards had one of the best games of her career, throwing down 34 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to lead Rabun County (14-4).

Senior Mili Watts had 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists, while senior Lucy Hood added 13 points, 7 assists, and 3 rebounds for the Lady Wildcats.

Rabun County next has a huge showdown with No. 3 Athens Christian on Tuesday in Athens.


NORTH HALL 56,
EAST HALL 30

Four players scored in double figures for the Lady Trojans in a Region 8-4A North contest at home.

Athena Vachtsevanos led the way for the Lady Trojans (11-5, 4-2 Region 8-4A) with 16 points. Carly Bowen had 12 points on a perfect shooting night (4-for-4), including a pair of 3-pointers and going 2-for-2 from the free-throw line as well. Bowen dished out 3 assists.

Zara Gosse had 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Genesis Satterfield had 10 points and 8 rebounds for North Hall.

The Lady Trojans will travel to Madison County, and East Hall will play host to Cedar Shoals on Tuesday on region crossover day.


LANIER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 42,
FIDELES CHRISTIAN 19

The Lady Lightning moved to a perfect 3-0 in region play with a big win on Friday.

LCA (11-6, 3-0 in GAPPS) was led by junior Emma Flowers with 12 points. Junior Ellie Roberts chipped in 8 points for the Lady Lightning. 

LCA will be back in action on Saturday in a non-GAPPS matchup against Providence Christian.
